Parametric study of antenna arrays for satellite communication using Ansys electronics suite
Author(s): Youssef El Ghannouchi and Sami Chahed
Abstract: The rapid evolution of satellite communication systems demands advanced antenna arrays capable of delivering high gain, low latency, and reliable performance across a wide frequency range. This study investigates the parametric optimization of antenna arrays using ANSYS Electronics Suite, focusing on critical parameters such as element spacing, array geometry, feeding network design, and radiation pattern characteristics. A simulation-driven approach was employed to evaluate performance metrics, including gain, directivity, beamforming accuracy, and side-lobe suppression. The results demonstrate that parameter tuning significantly enhances the performance of antenna arrays for satellite communication applications. This study provides insights into optimizing antenna arrays for next-generation high-throughput satellites (HTS) and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks.
